Amy Yoshitsu is an artist currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She investigates infrastructure’s relationship to the needs and habits of the individual as it serves and contorts to the agreements made within the many. Labor and manufacturing, post-consumption and waste – realms that exemplify the tension between systems of power versus singular action and thought – continue to be key conceptually and materially. Use and reuse of of industrial and found materials are often incorporated to both prolong the lifespan and extend the concept of an object. Whether displaying refuse or covering architectural sites that in turn degrade the upholstery, her production highlights the incrementalism of formation/deterioration, a process that can be simultaneous or gradient.Amy is also a Graphic and Web Designer.
