The Donate Nothing Button … It Didn’t Work This Time

Oh well… this awesome bit of digital media didn’t work out. But it’s no less awesome for having been tried.

This looks like a standard political campaign website  — except for the “donate nothing” button. The website got the candidate for the Massachusettes state house some buzz (I read about it on Creative Commons founder Lawrence Lessig’s Twitter feed). It also got Connolly into a bit of hot water!

Zigging while pretty much EVERYBODY else zags  doesn’t always pay off  — especially in the short term. The incumbent took the race. But some interesting people took notice. And there’s always next time!
