The Web Is Weird

And here are two examples:

OK the one above is just a typo. But the one below… it’s more. When you get to the website, it’s like only 20% is the content you came for (in this case the recipe) is visible. The rest is ads (not a new phenomenon) and a huge cookie settings box on the left so that the site can be compliant with European, Californian, and other regulations. True, one click gets rid of the box. And it’s a particularly egregious example (most aren’t like this). Somebody needs to have a chat with the chef about their user experience.
