The web, like many places really, is wall-to-wall carpeted with crap. That’s one reason many people believe the web can’t be an emotional medium. I love finding the exceptions. Here is one… a short animation that I discovered on YouTube, watched on YouTube and am sharing with you via YouTube. It’s all digital. And it’s all emotional. Granted, this may not be your thing. But if it is, enjoy… It’s a film by Israeli animator Maya Weksler about an old woman who dies — and it is a beautiful interpretation of why there are stars in the sky above us (if you’re an insomniac reading this at night.. go outside and look at them after watching this).
The Right Place and Right Time for Storytelling
When I write “being” like that it sounds passive, almost lucky. But this guy is all about actively putting himself there.

This is a beautiful video clip. It made me sad enough to almost cry as I remembered certain things (a ‘chuppah’ and the blessings often do that to me). It also made me happy to see that there ‘really’ is a heaven from which bobbe/safta/gran/ouma can look down upon her family, and rejoice with them. Dum spiro, spero. While I breathe, I hope.
