This post is part of Rassak’s “YouTube Tuesdays Plus” featuring mini case studies of marketing videos (sometimes we look at other digital media too). New on Tuesdays. Don’t miss one, subscribe.
Here are two recent(ish) YouTube videos. The first is for Prudential, the US financial services firm. The second is for TrueMoveH, a Thai mobile phone company that’s part of True, the large Thai communications conglomerate.
They’re both great videos. And if the Thai one doesn’t make you cry or at least give you goosebumps….. well, I’ll just say it’s clearly moved a lot of people. Just look at the 14 million view count.
But here’s the thing. The Prudential video isn’t nearly as popular but the link between what the story they are telling and what Prudential sells is very very clear.
The link between the Thai story and what True offers is a bit of a stretch.
What do you think?
